I think that's a great idea having the Red Cross come out on a Sunday for this.

I hope the free sausage sizzle will help getting people coming out on the weekend.

Blood for Life

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing fine. Like previous year, Ahmadiyya association is organizing a blood donation drive on Sunday 12th October 2008.

A Red Cross Blood collection unit will be collecting blood donations at 1-Neville Road (corner Stockleigh road) from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. which means you can give blood conveniently without leaving your local area, and help Australia achieve 20,000 blood donations needed every week. So please donate blood and save up to three lives.

You are welcome to come and donate blood or just drop by to encourage the donors.

Free sausage sizzle, juice and cold drinks will be provided to all donors and visitors.

Any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 0433-192290.

Hope to see you there.

Regards,
Fahim

HAY all...

dose anyone know what is actually going in where around jimboomba Huh?? there are so many people saying so many different things of whats going where!! WHAT have YOU heard?? Undecided its gonna explode in population soon... and i must say im not looking forward to it really... ive lived hear all my life i was born in beaudesert Roll Eyes... and have always liked it as "in the sticks"!! Cheesy

and logan isnt exactly caring about the preservation on jimboomba, considering the huge acreage clearance planned for land off cattle camp rd, off Glynton rd. i use to walk out there to go to the river, there was so much wildlife out there it wasnt funny.then they buldozed all the huge gumtree's! without any notice to the public!.. it wasn't until a month or more later the council posted a letter for comments and objections to the development. they had a sports facility with tennis and basketball coarts, and a shopping centre, why would they need that when the spars just downs the road and they just built two huge ovals, and tennis corts off henderson!

Yep, there's a lot of development going ahead these days, and a lot of it was planned way back in the days of Beaudesert Shire Council.

As time goes on, with more and more people moving in to the area, there will be a need for more facilities, more shopping centres and the like.

Sadly though all the great areas like the one you mentioned, will be bulldozed all the name of progress.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I am building a house in the 'Timbertop' release of the Flagstone Estate that should be finished around the end of the year. I am particularly concerned about whether or not I'm going to be able to get ADSL (1 or 2) within this new estate. Does anyone have any information at all about whether this is going to be possible? I have looked at google maps and it looks like this new section of the Flagstone Estate is around 9km from the Jimboomba exchange, and from what I've read that seems to be too far from the exchange (aside from any other concerns) to get ADSL services. From what I've read even closer to the exchange its very much hit and miss with getting ADSL connected? Is there anyone I can talk to who might have a better idea about telecommunications provisions in this section of the new estate?

Thanks!

Hi Kranky,

I have also recently moved to Flagstone, one of the older stages, and I haven't been able to get connected to either the ADSL or ADSL2 services (I've tried 3 times now).  Has anyone out there had similar issues in this area or have any information on future upgrades?  It seems bizzare that a place like Flagstone which has been talked about in Government circles for major population growth are not making it clear on how and when the infrastructure to support this growth will be available.

Thanks.

Laurie,
I have a friend on Glenlogan (Galilee Court) and they have broadband. I don't know what flavour it is though.

Hi Moke
Can you tell me who and where on Galilee Court please?  I live on Galilee Court and we have been tryng to get ADSL since we moved here 6 months ago.  I would like to talk to whoever it is to see if we can do whatever they did to get connected.  I understand we now have copper wiring, but the latest excuse is that the RIM needs upgrading and we are not important enough for them to do it.
Thanks

Hi,

We will be moving to Glenlogan Lakes Estate at the end of May 2008. I am wondering if there is anyone currently with Broadband access in the area, whether that be ADSL or ADSL2? From my understanding, Optusnet will not be servicing the area which limits who I choose to provide my phone line.

Cheers
Laurie

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd update you on the doings of Telstra.  After many "discussions" with Telstra we decided to go to dial-up with them, just so we could contact people.  We have been considering Cirrus, but have heard bad reports, however here at sunny Glenlogan Lakes Estate we only seem to have a choice between them and Telstra and who would willingly deal with Telstra.

About 3 weeks ago Telstra rang us and offered us adsl which we jumped at (wouldn't you).  We thought our problems were over.  Not so - a week later we received the standard letter about not being able to get adsl in our area!  I rang the supplied number to complain and asked for their complaints department.  Believe it or not - they don't have one.  I was asked what I hoped to achieve by registering a complaint, to which I replied "to stop it happening again to me or anyone else".  I suggested (strongly) it was good not to have a complaints department, then you can always claim that you never get any complaints.  How good is that?Huh

I can't believe they actually offered adsl to me, when its not available.
