Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd update you on the doings of Telstra.  After many "discussions" with Telstra we decided to go to dial-up with them, just so we could contact people.  We have been considering Cirrus, but have heard bad reports, however here at sunny Glenlogan Lakes Estate we only seem to have a choice between them and Telstra and who would willingly deal with Telstra.

About 3 weeks ago Telstra rang us and offered us adsl which we jumped at (wouldn't you).  We thought our problems were over.  Not so - a week later we received the standard letter about not being able to get adsl in our area!  I rang the supplied number to complain and asked for their complaints department.  Believe it or not - they don't have one.  I was asked what I hoped to achieve by registering a complaint, to which I replied "to stop it happening again to me or anyone else".  I suggested (strongly) it was good not to have a complaints department, then you can always claim that you never get any complaints.  How good is that?Huh

I can't believe they actually offered adsl to me, when its not available.

Hi,

We will be moving to Glenlogan Lakes Estate at the end of May 2008. I am wondering if there is anyone currently with Broadband access in the area, whether that be ADSL or ADSL2? From my understanding, Optusnet will not be servicing the area which limits who I choose to provide my phone line.

Cheers
Laurie

Laurie,
I have a friend on Glenlogan (Galilee Court) and they have broadband. I don't know what flavour it is though.

Hi Moke
Can you tell me who and where on Galilee Court please?  I live on Galilee Court and we have been tryng to get ADSL since we moved here 6 months ago.  I would like to talk to whoever it is to see if we can do whatever they did to get connected.  I understand we now have copper wiring, but the latest excuse is that the RIM needs upgrading and we are not important enough for them to do it.
Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I am building a house in the 'Timbertop' release of the Flagstone Estate that should be finished around the end of the year. I am particularly concerned about whether or not I'm going to be able to get ADSL (1 or 2) within this new estate. Does anyone have any information at all about whether this is going to be possible? I have looked at google maps and it looks like this new section of the Flagstone Estate is around 9km from the Jimboomba exchange, and from what I've read that seems to be too far from the exchange (aside from any other concerns) to get ADSL services. From what I've read even closer to the exchange its very much hit and miss with getting ADSL connected? Is there anyone I can talk to who might have a better idea about telecommunications provisions in this section of the new estate?

Thanks!

Hi Kranky,

I have also recently moved to Flagstone, one of the older stages, and I haven't been able to get connected to either the ADSL or ADSL2 services (I've tried 3 times now).  Has anyone out there had similar issues in this area or have any information on future upgrades?  It seems bizzare that a place like Flagstone which has been talked about in Government circles for major population growth are not making it clear on how and when the infrastructure to support this growth will be available.

Thanks.
